WIRELESS ADAPTER REVIEW - ADAPTER REVIEW
WIRELESS ADAPTER REVIEW - EXTENDING A WIRELESS NETWORK - HOW DO I INSTALL A WIRELESS PRINTER
Wireless Adapter Review
- A wireless network interface controller (WNIC) is a network card which connects to a radio-based computer network, unlike a regular network interface controller (NIC) which connects to a wire-based network such as token ring or ethernet.
- A wireless adapter is a device that allows your computer to communicate with a Sky Broadband box without using cables. If a computer is not wireless enabled, either a card that fits into the machine or an external USB device, such as the Sky wireless adapter, will provide this functionality.
- A formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of instituting change if necessary
- look at again; examine again; "let's review your situation"
- reappraisal: a new appraisal or evaluation
- A periodical publication with critical articles on current events, the arts, etc
- an essay or article that gives a critical evaluation (as of a book or play)
- A critical appraisal of a book, play, movie, exhibition, etc., published in a newspaper or magazine
Cactus V5 Triggers
A new acquisition that is recharging my photography interests. I purchased two pairs of the devices and have been playing with them for a few days.
There have been a lot of reviews online regarding these devices and it seems that this is a major upgrade since the V4 edition. Most important is that each device is a transceiver, meaning that each one can be set to either transmit or receive trigger signals. Also, there's a half-press setting, allowing the use of autofocus when using these as wireless shutter triggers. The channel settings are via a spin dial, giving 16 channels for control. Right now, this is a lot more than I'll need. Sync speed for the triggers is fast with a few reviewers able to get up to 1/350. My K10D has a sync speed of 1/180, so this is not an issue. Regarding tripping the light in rapid succession, one reviewer has tested these at up to 35 frames per second.
The package comes with a variety of cables and adapters. At this time, I don't have much that can use these cables. This would be a growth area for me.
Taken with the Pentax K10D camera using the smc P-DA* 16-50mm F2.8 ED/AL (IF) SDM lens and AF540FGZ flash. Flash was diffused and bounced. Custom white balance applied in PPL4.
Godox Reemix and LumoPro LP605
The Godox Reemix RMII wireless trigger has an integral umbrella slot and tilt bracket, making umbrella adapters for your speedlights unnecessary. Since the Reemix can be tilted to point vertically, as shown, you can even keep the receiver on your stand (in this case a LumoPro LP605) and it will fit neatly in your stand case for storage and travel.
